The creek runs all year round.
Froze Creek meanders through the property, attracts an abundance of wildlife and birds and irrigates a large area for grazing or recreational activities.
View from meadow
This flat meadow is surounded by the creak on three sides
view from deck, looking north to creek and little canyon
The creek is lined with many mature willow and mountain alder trees. The hills are covered with grass, wildflowers and mature pinion pine trees. Our property stretches to the top of the hill, which guarantees views of unobstructed wilderness without the possibility of development in the future. This is also where we have watched all of the wild animals and birds that are present in this area.
View from deck, looking East
A large area has been cleared of brush which offers great grazing for livestock and the rich soil would also be great for cultivating a garden.
View from the deck to the East
There are large rock outroppings to the East of our property. This picture was taken from the deck in the early evening.
View of the West side of the house
This is where the second entrance is located that also leads directly into the basement. The large window on the left is the bedroom window which has an amazing view of the Sangre de Christo Mountain Range. The top window is in the small loft, where you can get a great overview of the creek valley to the West. You can access the loft from stairs inside the bedroom.
We turn our solar panels manually several times a day, creating extra power for our higher than average electricity consumption in our solar powered wood shop. This county has a high number of households that only use solar power. Westcliffe also has a solar equipment provider who services solar systems and has been in business here for almost 20 years.
The many windows on the South side of the house provide an excellent source of heat during the winter and keep heating cost very low.

View of the backyard & creek
This area enjoys a lot of privacy and plenty of space to play croquet, frisbee, badminton, volleyball, etc. Plenty of sunny & shaded spots to read, birdwatching, sunbathing & listening to the sound of the creek.
View from the South West
In the left half of the picture you can see the little canyon that leads to a beautiful forest with old growth Ponderosa Pine & Douglas Fir, there are also many aspen trees that change color in the fall. From there, you can access BLM Land, then national Forest. You can reach the edge of the forest in 15 minutes by foot from the house. The trees that grow on the hills are Pinion Pine.
View to the South (zoomed in)
A neighbor owns the parcels (105 acres) across from our property and uses them as pastures for his horses. We only have two neighbors in this creek valley, both of them are about 1/2 mile away from us in either direction.
